High School Musical 2 DVD Board Game

High School Musical 2 DVD Board Game Reviews: HSM 2 fans will love this game. The Dance category is hard, since they show the dance clip, and you choose the correct sequence, but the 3 stationary pictures in each sequence choice often look very similar. What it DOES have, however, are interviews with the HSM 2 characters talking about their time on the set, recounting little stories. This happens randomly during the game, and is an interesting diversion. I like ‘Fulton’ as narrator better than the drama teacher from the first movie. The game format is slightly different than HSM 1, but the basics are the same. You do have to work the remote more in this game than HSM 1. Definitely worth it for the HSM 2 tweener in your life.

Legend Of Ron Burgundy

Legend Of Ron Burgundy Reviews: 12 or 13 years ago it seemed that most comedy films had either Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey in it. While this was not necessarily a bad thing for those who enjoyed the comic styles of Sandler and Carrey, it soon became evident that they were playing the exact same role with every film and soon this became quite tiring for me. It is probably for this reason that I have been quite slow to warm up to the films of Will Ferell despite enjoying some of his comedic scenarios on SNL. However, Talladega Nights is a guilty pleasure of mine and I did like Ferell’s role in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, so I decided to give Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy a shot.

Old School Jams

Old School Jams Reviews: I agree with Mr. Pac Dan about some of the songs not being 12 inches, but still is a great buy, especially as a constant enjoyment reminder of the real essence of music and just havin’ a phenomenally great/quality time whenever you heard these songs.

Old School Jams Reviews: Then you will enjoy this CD otherwise it’s a waste of money, mostly Vinyl records transferred to CD and poorly done at that. You can clearly hear vinyl noise and pops/crackles. There should be a law that CD’s transfered from vinyl records should state so on the package.

The Magic School Bus and the Electric Field Trip

The Magic School Bus and the Electric Field Trip Review: It is more than obvious that Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen had the time of their lives bringing this book to fruition. Penned in 1997, “The Magic School Bus and the Electric Field Trip” is packaged to the bursting point with anything and everything that has to do with electricity. There’s so much going on here that a simple one sided scorecard just won’t suffice upon delving into Ms. Frizzle’s latest adventure. It is Cole and Degen’s most action-packed and tightly-woven collaboration yet. One senses from just taking in the first few pages that author and illustrator poured every fiber of their being into the Friz’s ninth science-related field trip for children. And so, while a thunderstorm rages on outside, our favorite frizzy-haired teacher begins her lesson for the day. She starts by breaking down a diagram of an atom. Then she points out the relationship between electrons  and electric current. This is what gives us electricity.

Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide Special Field Trip Edition

Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide Special Field Trip Edition Review: Like the rest of the series, this is a light-hearted look at middle-school through the eyes of Ned, Cookie, and Moze. The class goes on a field trip to the fictional Huffington Library and most of the story takes place on location a first for the series and a nice change.

Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide Special Field Trip Edition Review: I had seen bits and pieces of the show on Nickelodeon over the last couple of years but only recently had I watched closely enough to begin appreciating it. However, it was not until they aired this episode that I truly sat down and watched it. I believe I have seen them all now. I would really love to have a complete series DVD to be able to go back and watch from the beginning, in order.

Thomas and the School Trip

Thomas and the School Trip Review: I think the main message to this story is that children are absolutely wonderful. It’s fine to have very simple sentences for the beginning reader; or to address the book to the not-such-a-beginner-reader. But this book seems to take the worst combination; dumbed down story with too-hard words. That said, my children really enjoy this book; the annoying aspects only seem to annoy me. And, of course, their opinion is what really counts. The older kids love to read it to the younger ones, and they think it’s great that Thomas gets to have his trip with the children.

National Lampoon’s Senior Trip

National Lampoon’s Senior Trip Review: It’s because I have a particular taste for this. I love this film. I’m a huge Kevin McDonald fan and the role he plays is just priceless. So, seeing that this film finally came to DVD, I’m not overjoyed, I’m ecstatic. The film is simple. Really bad class make a foolish mistake after Principal tells them to, Senator with bad plot to President sees bad class, and wants to bring bad class to Capitol Hill to ruin President.

The film also boasts a killer soundtrack that I will always listen to, to this day. With rock and a great cast and some hysterical moments, this is a definite to your DVD collection. It’s a bit dated, mostly because the times and all, but it’s so good. I say this with all honesty, this movie really deserved better than it received, and since I have an opportunity to review this first, I shall put this movie to it’s high rank!

Old School Vs. New School

Old School Vs. New School Review: I was looking for a breakbeat compilation and found this. A few tracks have some sweet breakbeats, but there’s so much more funk that can’t be contained by just one musical subgenre. These new school remixes have taken these already great tracks and transformed them. There are a couple tracks on the CD that don’t quite slide with me, but the majority are awesome. Whodini vs The Freestylers, A Tribe Called Quest vs Aphrodite, and A Tribe Called Quest vs Norman Cook especially are otherwordly and deserve to be cranked up on everyone’s stereo system.
